Farmingdale, New York: Farmingdale state College offers various facilities for both the student sport teams and their supporters. Some of these facilities include; outdoor fields, tennis courts, Nold Hall Athletic complex, and training areas. These facilities are not limited to only the student athletes, but also the staff and faculty.

Farmingdale’s athletic complex building, “Nold Hall”, named after George E. Nold was built in 1972. This building has 94 thousand square feet, seating about 4,000 spectators. The building was renovated in 2014, but had another renovation in 2017. The gymnasium in Nold Hall, named after Walter A. lynch, was upgraded with wood flooring and a “ten lap-to-the-mile” track. This gymnasium features the basketball and volleyball courts for the respecting teams. This gym does offer open gym hours Monday through Friday from 7 A.M to 10 P.M. Be sure to check the schedule and updated gym hours, as there may be practices being held.

This complex also included a newly renovated weight training room that is available to students, faculty and staff for free. The Farmingdale community and alumni do not have access to this area, as its to prevent overcrowding in the facility. The weight room offers many machines like ellipticals, squat racks, bench presses, treadmills, bikes, free weights and more. Be sure to fill out the “registration form” before your first workout. This facility is also open Monday through Friday, from 7 A.M to 10 P.M, and closed on Sundays.

More for the teams, Farmingdale renovated the locker rooms for all 18 teams very recently in the fall of 2024. These new locker rooms feature wood lockers that you would see in the professional setting. The student athletes also have access to the training room. Students must make an appointment with one of the athletic trainers in order to take advantage of this facility.

Beside the indoor facilities, Farmingdale also offers many outdoor facilities as well. This included the six tennis courts, 20 station gold driving range, track, lacrosse, and soccer complex, and a softball & baseball stadium. The outdoor track/lacrosse/soccer complex was finished in 2008, that has an eight-lane track surrounding the field. A year later, the six all weather tennis courts were finished in 2009, with seating for viewing all sides of the courts. The baseball stadium was completed earlier in 2005, but renovated with brand new turf in 2019, a fully lighted field, as well as seating for 1,000 guests.

In order to provide the students, staff and faculty with the opportunity for the practice, leisure or training, Farmingdale State college has made many renovations to their facilities to make this possible. With these facilities, Farmingdale gives many opportunities for these individuals to succeed in the sports they love or enjoy playing in. The indoor and outdoor facilities in including the gymnasium, weight training rooms, fields and locker rooms, make it all possible for these students, athletes, staff and faculty to take advantage of the teams, or just use these facilities to pass time or distract yourself with. These facilities together make it possible for these individuals to do what they love, and potentially make it big.
