Farmingdale State College to Celebrate Class of 2025 at Nassau Coliseum On May 22, Farmingdale State College will have its 2025 commencement ceremony at Nassau Coliseum to commemorate the accomplishments of its graduating class, which is scheduled to be attended by thousands of students, professors, family, and friends. For many children, the occasion means more than just academic success. It acknowledges the dedication, growth, and personal experiences that have led them to this point.

Vanessa, a Law Enforcement and Technology major, graduated from Farmingdale after transferring from California's Grossmont Community College. Vanessa, like many students, chose Farmingdale for its affordability and accessible location. "Other schools didn't offer my program, and the private ones were too expensive," she stated. Farmingdale offered a great financial and academic environment. Vanessa's experience at Farmingdale is similar to that of many transfer students, who arrive with great hopes but encounter early difficulties. She struggled to feel connected to school life during her first semesters because she worked full-time and took online programs. "It was a little challenging," she confesses. "I felt like I wasn't really part of the school."

Things began to change when she left her job to pursue an internship and become more involved on campus. That decision had a big impact on her college career. "It started to feel more real, I felt like a student," she recalled. Nevertheless, the graduation which is approaching seems like a big achievement. "I'm speechless," responded Vanessa. "Although, I feel really good that I have finally reached this stage." Farmingdale's Class of 2025 is made up of first-generation college

students, working professionals, and transfer students like Vanessa, each with their own story of perseverance and purpose. They are both happy and thoughtful as they rehearse strutting across the platform. Moreover, this ceremony on the 22nd of May would turn out to be much more than just the official end to their college days for these students. The occasion would be an eloquent expression of their hard work, dedication, and wish, and their never-ending dreams in addition to the unimaginable prospects that they would explore.
