FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- Farmingdale State College is a very big commuter school. Lots of people drive by car, either by themselves, or they get a ride from somebody else, get dropped off, and carpool. 

Approximately 95% of students commute to campus, and the other 5% dorm. Students also take the bus or train to get to campus. Farmingdale has a transportation shuttle that gets people from the Farmingdale Train Station to campus and back to the train station. It also gets people to the Aviation Center if you get dropped off on campus, but have a class at the Aviation Center you can still get there and back without having to call the person who dropped you off at campus.

Not a lot of people know about the shuttle system though. The FSC campus shuttle is supported by the student transportation fund. The shuttle runs between Laffin Hall and the Farmingdale LIRR train station. The drive is about 5 minutes. The shuttle also runs between Laffin Hall, the Farmingdale LIRR train station, and the Aviation Center. That drive is about 15 minutes. The travel times are estimates and may be affected by traffic or roadwork and or weather conditions. The shuttle runs from the first day of the fall semester to the last day of the spring semester on May 15th. 

The shuttle schedule starts at 7:10 AM at the Farmingdale LIRR train station and will get to Laffin Hall 5 minutes later at 7:15 AM. In the morning the shuttles come around every 20 or 30 minutes depending on the trip. The shuttle only goes to the Aviation Center twice in the mornings at 8:25 AM and 9:55 AM. The shuttle does not run between 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, as the driver is on a lunch break. The shuttle starts again at 1:05 PM at the Farmingdale LIRR train station and it ends at 5:00 PM at Laffin Hall. Mondays through Thursdays, the shuttle runs in the evening from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. 10 PM drop off at the Farmingdale LIRR train station.
