Attention all future Rams!! We want you to be our next star player, and we want to be the first to show you what being a Ram is all about. For many high school seniors, searching for the right college can be very difficult and stressful. Many factors come into play and as an athlete you need to make sure you can balance academic and athletic goals. Farmingdale prides itself on having an environment where athletes can be their best selves both athletically and academically.

A lot of students just look at the big-name programs and don’t pay attention to playing time, one on one time with coaches, or how their academics are going. It does not matter if you played for a division one team if you got no field time and spent the whole season on the bench. We want our athletes to love the sports they play and at the same time we want them to excel academically, and we believe Farmingdale State College provides the perfect environment for success.

Let’s talk about campus! For new recruits, campus environment can impact a lot on and off the field. A smaller campus can make it easier for students to build relationships with professors, coaches, advisors, and teammates/classmates. This makes for a much more personal college experience. Although on the smaller side, our campus does not have a lack of events and student life activities. There are always events hosted by clubs and groups.

Although we have a lot of different sports teams, we make sure that each team gets the attention and playtime they deserve. We even have our own driving range on campus. If you decide you want to live on campus, we have beautiful dorms located just a few minutes’ walk from the middle of campus. Even though they are so close to everything else, they are still tucked away giving you a feeling of privacy.

We hope that by now, many of you are asking, “How do I apply?”. It’s very simple. First, you must fill out an application to attend Farmingdale State College normally just as everyone else would. You then need to go to the Farmingdale Sports website and fill out a prospective student-athlete form. In this form you will be asked to submit things such as GPA, SAT and ACT scores, and highlight reels of you playing your desired sport. You need to make sure you have all this ready before filling out the form.
