The season is here for the Farmingdale State Volleyball Club

Farmingdale, New York –  Now that we are almost into March, it is time to learn more about the volleyball club teams here at FSC. The volleyball club team was created in 2022, and over the past few years, they have been managed by different people. The president of the club team is Derek Mendez. Their mission is to teach or enhance the skills of the members of the team.

Tryouts have just recently finished, and the Rams’ club volleyball team is ready to take action with their season ahead of them. They have added new players, and it was clear to see that they have already made an impact on the team.

The Farmingdale State College Volleyball Club is hoping that one day, they can become a member of the NCAA, but as of right now, they are just a club. The teams have joined an organization called “Volleyball Long Island,” which is a league for school clubs, travel team clubs, and organized teams of friends who want to play. The locations of these games are all located in Nassau County, and there are a bunch of tournaments every season. (https://www.vbli.com/)

The women’s club recently had a quick warm-up to stay sharp and get ready for the season. They competed against Old Westbury’s club team at home, and let’s just say it was total domination. The girls swept them in a 5-game set, going 5-0, and they looked really good. They proved last week that they can keep up with other teams. The women’s team is looking more solid than they have ever been.

The final scores of those games were (25-22) / (25-17) / (25-10) / (25-18) / (15-13). It took the whole team to come down with the big win. The offense was filled with energy, looking to strike, and the defense was disciplined, playing the ball well.

The club teams stay very active on their social media and give their audience a chance to stay locked in for their season. For newcomers looking to watch their games at home, they go live on their Instagram and on their YouTube. It is very important to always check out their Instagram because they post when and where the games will be held.

The men, on the other hand, haven’t started yet, and besides the VBLI tournaments, they don’t have a schedule. It is difficult for them to get games, especially because of the limited teams in the area. They play Adelphi often, and soon they will be coming out with content.
