Upcoming events at the disability service center on campus

Farmingdale, NY – This spring semester, the Farmingdale Disability Services Center (DSC) is hosting a variety of events to help support students. These events are open to all students, and all designed to help meet their unique educational needs. All in the hopes that these events and the DSC can assist students in acting as independently as possible and to ensure an accessible college experience.  

If you attend any DSC event this semester, you can earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win a gift card at the end of the semester! 

This Semester the DSC is hosting the following events: 

Tips and Tricks for registering for classes Virtual Seminar at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5th, 2026.  

• Do you find yourself stressed about registering for classes for the Summer or Fall? This virtual event will give you all the information you need to make registration less stressful for you. Join the virtual session to get helpful tips, avoid common mistakes, and feel confident when registration times comes around this semester. 

  
  

Study Skills Workshop  at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24^th, 2026, in Whitman Hall 185 

• At this event, you can learn some new skills and resources from the DSC staff to improve your study habits! You can learn study strategies that you can put into practice this semester. Then relax and connect with other students with coloring activities and make your own bullet journal. 

  
  

Stress Management and Mindfulness Seminar at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23^rd, 2026, in Whitman Hall 185.  

• Do you feel stressed about finals? Come unwind at the DSC, as finals are approaching. Take some time to decompress, practice mindfulness, make a stress ball, complete a paint by numbers, all while relaxing and connecting with other students. 

  
  

DSC Finals Scheduling Party at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30^th, 2026, in Whitman Hall 185.   

• Do you have testing accommodations and need to schedule your final exams? Come celebrate the end of the semester with snacks, refreshments, and music at the DSC. While there, a counselor can help you schedule your final exams to take in the DSC office if you receive accommodation.

Make sure you take advantage of all of these great on-campus events this semester at the DSC. Don't forget that for each event you attend, you earn a raffle ticket for a gift card!
