Your favorite tv show/movies might have been filmed closer than you think

“The Gilded Age” is an HBO original show created by Juliane Fellowes and is getting ready to premier season three in 2025. The show follows a young woman during the period of the gilded age who moves in with her old-money aunts and finds herself in a social conflict between her old-money aunts and her new-money neighbors. Where she must figure out if she's going to live up to society's traditional rules or establish her own path. While season three did just finish wrapping up in January 2025, there is no official announcement release date yet for season three . But there is speculation that parts of the show were currently being filmed in Old Bethpage Village, Long Island, NY. 

While you sit on the couch watching your favorite tv shows and movies you may just assume that the films and shows you love and adore are always produced on some Hollywood set but you may be surprised to find out which of your favorite tv shows and movies were filmed in Nassau county and are closer to you than you might have thought. Long island is the home of gold coast studios where shows like the gilded age and much more have been produced, directed and shot in . With the excitement of season three premiering soon here are a few of your favorites that were also shot in Nassau County and could go visit and tour around .

The Sopranos 

 In The Sopranos, another HBO original show Season six episode 20 (2007) Bobby Bacala ( Steve Schirripa) is killed while buying a toy train during a mob war between New York and New Jersey. The episode was filmed right inside the store, train land which is located in Lynbrook. 

Meet The Parents 

“Meet The Parents” (2000)  a comedy starring Ben stiller, Robert De Niro,Teri polo, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson is set in a house in oyster bay, Greg Focker who is played by Ben Stillers goes back home to oyster bay to meet Pamela Byrnes (Teri polo) parents. The entire movie almost takes place in the mansion . The house was just on the market back in 2021 for $2.29 million dollars. 

 Cruel Intentions 

“Cruel Intentions” A romantic thriller released in 1999 starring Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Philippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The movie was primarily filmed in other locations in New York but if you look carefully you will notice that when Sebastian (played by Ryan Philipppe) meets Annette (played by Reese Witherspoon) the old Westbury garden is used as the set along the film  and in the background of the movie.
