FARMINGDALE, N.Y- Local families, students, and longtime residents filled the Village Green November 9, 2025 as the Sunday's farmers market wrapped up one of its final weekends for the 2025 season.
The Village Green Farmers market runs through the warmer days of early summer, to the chilly days of crisp fall. Vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and specifically for the cooler season apple cider donuts and warm apple cider to make for the perfect fall day. The steady turnout each Sunday shows how locals love to support the community and buy from their local vendors.
One attendee staying in the area comes from Nashville and stumbled upon the Village Green. “I saw that they had local apple cider which I absolutely love, this one has organic apples in it.. We actually got here towards the tailend of the market and we got it at a discounted price!”
She raves over this homemade hot sauce purchased by a local vendor Eric and states “it is made from organic carrots”. The vendor is 14 years old and makes his own hot sauce with the help of his Mother Jessica offered in the flavors of mild medium or hot. His enthusiasm and devotion to his craft allows him to stand out of the crowd attracting big crowds around his hot sauce stand.
Visitors browse fresh produce such as apples, small batched jams, fresh sourdough loaves and so much more including local art and floral arrangements. Several vendors expressed their love for the fall season and the boost in attendees in the months of October-November.
Farmingdale State College students were seen at the event with friends wearing the FSC sweatshirts and other gear being seen as an easily accessible way to engage with the community. This farmers market hits close to home for FSC students as it is within arms reach of the campus and makes for the perfect weekend plans to enjoy with friends and family.
Organizers of the event hope to expand offerings for seasons to come with new vendors, product availability, and attraction to the public. The farmers market is expected to close in the upcoming weeks and will reopen for spring 2026.
