ROSLYN, N.Y. – Sweet Harbor Coffee is set to open this week in the Village of Roslyn. The café is located at 1353 Old Northern Boulevard, next door to the historic Grist Mill.

Co-owners Alexis and Joe Jensen said on the shop’s Instagram story that they anticipate a soft opening this week, with a grand opening in the near future. The same post shared that they will be open Wednesdays through Sundays in the month of October, but did not specify shop hours. This is the first announcement that shares the official details of the opening, as previously shared posts and articles only discussed a possible summer launch.

The coffee shop is expected to have a selection of specialty café-style beverages and will feature baked goods from Diane’s Bakery, also located in the Roslyn area. Diane’s Bakery has been open since 1982, making fresh-baked goods daily in small batches as they say it makes a difference.

The Jensens have been searching for the right roast and best brews across New York State to include in their menu. They have been working on all of the details of the shop over the past 8 months, including construction, renovations, and training their staff. At the same time, Alexis and Joe Jensen have been balancing new parent life.

The couple moved from Brooklyn back to Alexis Jensen’s hometown in Roslyn to fulfill her dream of coming home to open a café. The tagline for Sweet Harbor Coffee is “A place along the way,” inviting locals and visitors to take a break from their day and stop in for a coffee.

Alexis Jensen’s dream goes back to her time working as a barista as a college student. Paired with her experience in marketing and social media management, she is making her vision a reality.

In their journey of moving home, opening a coffee shop, and becoming parents, the Jensens have shared each step of the way across social media, gaining a local anticipation.
