Farmingdale, NY, November 17, 2025- The 2025-26 season has just tipped off for the Farmingdale State Rams, and they are ready to face the expectations that are due to be in front of them. Coming off of a Skyline Conference Championship loss last season, and back to back Skyline Conference Championship wins the previous two seasons, the Rams are used to winning a lot of games, and they expect to do the same this season.

The Rams tipped off their home opener for the season this past Saturday, November 15th, losing a tough game to Cortland by the score of 79-78, the first game of the FSC Tip-Off tournament, a conference tournament between Cortland, Farmingdale, St. Josephs, and Albright. Cortland beat St Josephs in the finals of this tournament, with Farmingdale salvaging a win in the consolation game against Albright. This tournament moves the Rams to 2-1 on the season, with their season opener being a win against NJCU on the road. That record continues a trend for the Rams, who have gone .500 or better in 8 consecutive seasons, and in 9 of 10 seasons under head coach Brandon Twomey.

The Rams return an experienced team for the 2025-26 season, with a starting lineup that consists of all juniors and seniors. Senior guard Sean Conroy played a large role last weekend against Cortland, scoring 18 points on 6-13 shooting, as well as Michael Notias, another senior guard who scored 22 points on 8-14 shooting. A high powered offense with a lot of experience, the Rams carry a unique advantage compared to other teams in the Skyline Conference. Returning players who have won the Skyline before, leads to the expectations that this team has of returning to the promised land.

Overall, the Rams season has gotten off to a fairly successful start, even with a disappointing loss in the first game of the FSC Tip-Off Tournament. The Rams will look to build on their past successes, as well as create new paths as the year progresses. One of the more popular teams on campus, this team will have to deal with the expectations that come along with loads of past success, and the expectations of the student body for them to provide the college with a winning basketball team. Nothing new for Coach Twomey, and with a team that seems to feed off of the pressure, it is nothing new for them either.
