FARMINGDALE, N.Y., November 17, 2025 – The Farmingdale State College Driving Range has become a regular stop for students, local residents, and golfers on Long Island. The range is conveniently located on campus and offers people an inexpensive and simple way to practice their swing, spend time outside and unwind. It benefits both the Farmingdale community and the college’s athletes.
Billy Guarasci, a Long Island golfer, is one of the Farmingdale State College driving range regulars. “I’ve been golfing for over 25 years on Long Island. I have been going to Farmingdale College driving range since I've started,” he stated during an interview. “It’s a great range, it’s a great price, it’s very convenient for me, and it's been very helpful for me through my years of golfing. I think it’s a great thing that the college has, for their golf team and for the people in Bethpage and Farmingdale.”
This range has some of the most reasonable prices in the area and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. They offer discounts for students, faculty, staff, and seniors. A small bucket costs $8, a medium costs $11, and a large costs $13. Prices are also reduced on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during early-bird promotions. You can check out the complete list of 2025 rates on the Farmingdale State College range website.
The facility features 25 all-weather hitting stations with distance markers and clear targets facing an open field. Regardless of your experience level, these features assist golfers in improving accuracy and consistency. Additionally, a lot of students make use of this range in between their classes to unwind, get in some physical activity, and spend some time outdoors. According to the American Psychological Association, physical activity has been demonstrated to reduce stress and enhance focus. So students having access to this right on campus is beneficial to their physical and mental well being.
The campus also has an advanced golf simulator that features over 35 popular courses, such as Pinehurst, Torrey Pines, and Pebble Beach. The simulator provides players with detailed feedback by measuring distance, speed, and spin. The simulator demonstrates training exceptional equipment that Farmingdale State College has to offer.
These offerings definitely add some fun to the campus however, they are extremely beneficial to the Farmingdale State golf teams success. In 2025, the men's team won the Skyline Conference Championship for the 6th year in a row. Player of the Year went to junior Padruig Douglas and Rookie of the Year went to freshman Luke Grebinar.
The Farmingdale State golf team also finished 18th overall with a four-round total of 1,183 at the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship, making the final list for the second time in the program's history. This success from the team demonstrates how this access to practice equipment allows them to compete at such a high level nationally.
The Farmingdale State College Driving Range continues to serve for purposes other than golf practice. It provides students with an opportunity for a fun and healthy place to stop for a break in between their busy school schedules. It offers locals a dependable and cheap place to improve their skills and it continues to be an important part of the golf teams training.
