FARMINGDALE NEWS - On Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12pm to 4:30pm, The Farmingdale Public Library hosted a special community event featuring The Long Island Railroad Museum Display. The Display featured their model trains collection from Lionel to Bachmann Trains. The display delighted train/model trains enthusiasts of all ages. This engaging event allows visitors to the event to explore the world of railroads through the interactive model of train layouts and specialist demonstrations provided by the members of The Long Island Railroad Museum.
According to the library event page, “Drop in and join members of the Railroad Museum of Long Island as they bring their love of trains to life! Enjoy beautifully crafted model train layouts and watch toy trains in action. Have a train that needs a little tune-up? Bring it along! Museum members will also host a train repair clinic to look at toy trains in need of fixing. It’s a fun, family-friendly event for train enthusiasts of all ages! There is no registration required for this event.”
The exhibit showcased involved, the design of the model train layout of Lionel and Bachmann Trains with detailed tracks and buildings. One of the most popular trains was the Thomas from Lionel (O Scale) and Bachmann (Ho Scale). They also featured models from engines and rolling stock that exist.
