Nassau County goes all the way green as it gears up for St. Patrick’s Day

NEW YORK – St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and Nassau County’s Bars restaurants and retailers and town officials are counting down the days with only three weeks left before to prepare for one of the county’s most epic celebrations of the year. Every year Nassau County’s local businesses, retailers and community all gather in honor of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The 2026 Rockville Centre St. Patrick's Day parades grand Marshall has been named Bill Hogan, a longtime resident and community volunteer. Hogan, 57, has been a Rockville center resident for 28 years and has held leadership roles with St. Agnes CYO, coached numerous youth sports teams and has been a supporter of a number of philanthropic causes which includes the St. Baldrick’s and Tunnel to Towers foundations. According to an interview done by Liheardnews, the recognition Hogan said, “reflected the collective efforts of many families who have contributed to the village over the years.”  The interview then went on to say that Ashley Brennan, president of the St. Patriks day parade says, “Hogan exemplifies the qualities the organization looks for in a grand Marshall.” Brennan then goes on to say that the decision to choose Bill Hogan as the 2026 grand Marshall was a decision that was widely supported by committee members and residents. liheraldnewsinterview. Hogan, while speaking on the parade, says “It's been a great celebration of the village for a long time, and I really love the way they celebrate the community.”   

Many local business, retailers' local restaurants and community are in preparation of the St. Patrick's Day festivities by rolling out their new deals which cater exclusively to the St. Patrick's Day theme. Rockville Centers St. Patrick’s Day grand Marshall, Bill Hogan, says “They turned it into a parade that cares and shares, picking three charities annually and spreading the good fortune of Rockville Centre while supporting local businesses”. This year's Rockville Centre, St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place on March 21, 2026, along Maple Avenue and is expected to draw a crowd of at thousands to the villages downtown as notoriously done every year. Individuals in the community which include members from sporting clubs, church groups, scouting organizations, dance groups, local schools, civic organizations, military, police and fire department members who are interested; are all encouraged to sign up online to be part of  the RVC’s St. Patrick's day parade and sign up their community unit  for a $50 dollar registration fee which will ultimately be donated and divided amongst the three chosen charities of RVC’s St. Patrick's Day parade.
